Putting WLM to the Test

Tomorrow I’m headed in to have surgery to repair two tears in my rotator cuff – incase you don’t know I tore the tendons in my shoulder. It happens to be my right shoulder which is my dominant arm. After the surgery I’m going to be in a sling for 6 weeks but the first week I’m not allowed to do anything and apparently will be in some pain.

Cagedmonkey has taken some time off work to take care of me, the house and the kids. This will certainly put our WLM to the test. Cagedmonkey is going to have to take my direction, anticipate my needs and those of the kids. I’m also going to have to be ok with giving so much direction as well as being ok with asking for things.

Surprisingly enough, it’s very difficult for me to ask for help with things especially things I feel I should be doing myself. I’m really going to be depending on cagedmonkey for pretty much everything. He’s going to be cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids but on top of that he’ll be helping me get meds, get dressed, bathed, helping me get around, helping me get comfortable… like I said, everything. I do plan on working out wiping myself. šŸ™‚ I don’t have any doubt that he can take care of things. I worry about my ability to let him! šŸ™‚

Also to let our followers know, I write the most on the blog so it may be that we have less updates. Unless I can get cagedmonkey to get to writing while I’m unable. He does have some posts he wants to write so hopefully I can get him to put his feelings to paper, so to speak. I’ll try my best to keep you all updated so you don’t forget about us hehe.

I have no idea how much, if any, play will happen with my arm the way it will be so we’ll see if I have anything fun to post.

  1. Good luck on your surgery. I’ve had several friends who have had this and all say the rehab is quite painful. You’ll just have to decide you are going to grit your teeth and just do it or you won’t get better. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

  2. Best of luck with the surgery! As you say, it will be a challenge for both you and Cagedmonkey but you’ll figure it out — it’ll be fine. Love your posts and certainly will be patient!

    • Thanks! Hoping I can still use my stylus and Swype keyboard even with my arm in a sling… but definitely not until after the block wears off! Dr says I’ll be numb for 18 hours… that should be fun!

    • He seems to be up for the challenge… I think he wants to prove to me and himself that, not only can HE do it but that I can too! šŸ™‚ He really is a super duper awesome guy! And sexy, and yummy, and cute and a million other adjectives! Hehe
